Our Story
Gem has over three decades of hands-on experience in massage. She started off as a beauty therapist Level 4, working in various beauty industries providing treatments including Swedish, Sport and Aromatherapy massage. She then went on to University and gained a BSc (Hons) in Human Nutrition.
During her university studies her son was diagnosed with a brain tumour. This made GEM rethink about what type of treatments would be beneficial for people with multiple long-term conditions. She went on to study reflexology and Indian head.
In 2009-10 GEM travelled to Thailand and studied at several Thai massage schools to enhance her knowledge in massage, techniques and body awareness alignment and to gain self-healing from the loss of her son.

After studying an intensive teacher training course at the school of “ International Training Massage (ITM), GEM went on to study at many other Thai Massage Schools and with many guru’s such as Ajarn Sinchai, Mama Lek Chaiya (Nerve Touch) and Ajahn Pichest Boonthumme and more.
This took GEM on a journey of learning different styles of Thai Massage including abdominal chi massage, advanced stretching, hand palm healing and emotional freedom therapy (EFT).
After returning from Thailand GEM worked at “Kobkun” Thai massage for a number of years. Then GEM went on to study a three year diploma course in Shiatsu Massage at the London College of Shiatsu.
During this time GEM provided charitable massage work at MIND, giving treatments to service users and went on to give end of life massage care to patients at St Joseph Hospice for a number of years.
In 2013 GEM travelled to India where she studied an intense diploma course in Ayurvedic Massage massage at Anjali research centre and spa. GEM gained further knowledge in a variety of Panchakarma massage treatments including marma massage, facial, pregnancy massage and baby massage care including “Integrative Yoga Therapy”. Here GEM identified pulse readings at the local hospital to determine dosha characters ( Vita, Pitta and Kapha) and provided associated treatments to achieve optimal health to patients.
GEM went on to study 200-hours yoga teacher training (YTT) in Ashtanga yoga and Vinyasa flow at Sampoorna Yoga School in Goa for mind, body and soul balancing.
After COVID, GEM started work with the NHS, Tutoring on the “Self-Management” course. Helping individuals with long-term health conditions take control of their health and improve their quality of life at their own pace.
In the last ten years GEM has been a self employed massage therapist. Often seen on the Urban Massage platform, providing massages in the comfort of clients' own home. She is extremely dedicated to her work and to the health of her clients and wants to reach out to people in her local Enfield area, where she has recently moved, with massage.
GEM believes bereavement can be buried deep within the human body for years causing crippling stagnation. Sedentary lifestyles can also develop poor circulation, contributing to stagnation in different areas of the body. Both can lead to various health issues later on in life. For this reason GEM takes the whole body approach into account, collaboratively working with clients to achieve their overall goals in their massage treatments.
