Thai massage is a unique and ancient holistic healing art that provides a complete physical and energetic tune-up, leaving clients feeling both relaxed and energised.
Thai massage aims to balance the body's vital energy system by working along its energy channels, known as Sen. These pathways are similar in concept to the Meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine (where vital energy is called Qi)
In Thai massage, the life force flowing through the Sen is called Lom Pran. When these channels are blocked, it can lead to imbalances such as pain, discomfort, deficiencies, or excessive energy, potentially causing illness. Therefore, the primary goal is to free the flow of Lom Pran, release stagnation within the Sen channels, and restore overall energetic balance.
GEM has studied extensively in Thailand and offers both Northern and Southern Thai massage. Acupressure points along the Sen lines share similarities with acupuncture points in TCM and techniques are referred to as the “Lazy man’s Yoga”
GEM uses a combination of technique to blend acupressure and acupuncture points with rhythmic pressure along the sen lines using her hands, fingers, thumbs, palm, elbows, knees and feet.
The client is gently guided through a series of assisted yoga-like movements, manipulating limbs, joints, and the body into various positions. This passive stretching and gentle rocking, performed while the client is relaxed, aims to improve flexibility, enhance range of movement, and rebalance the Sen energy channels to address a multitude of physical, mental, spiritual, and energetic conditions.
This allows GEM to go deeper into the mechanical functions of the body to deal with deep muscle tension, joint stiffness, tight tendons and ligaments.
Experience Traditional Thai Massage fully clothed and without oil, just as it's been practiced for centuries. For those who prefer, GEM also offers this massage on a massage couch with the use of oil.
