Sports massage offers a multitude of benefits that directly help athletes and non-athletes enhance performance, endurance, flexiablity, improve faster muscle recovery and injury prevention.

The aim of a Pre-event Sport Massage is to warm up and stimulate the muscles, increase performance, flexibility and prepares the body for an intense workout. Depending on the type of athletic performance, Deep Tissue techniques can be applied 3-5 days prior to an event, to allow for post-massage healing. Sports Massages given 2-4 days prior to the event, generally focus on stimulating blood flow, warming up the muscles and improving range of motion.

Post-exercise Sports Massage aims to reduce inflammation, pain, and aid in the recovery from “Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) and Exercise Induced Muscle Damage (EIMD), which is caused by microscopic muscle damage during exercise and often appears 24-72 hours after the event. Tiger K Tape may be applied to support muscle and joint recovery.

Techniques can be deep, intense and relaxing depending on pre or post training and on clients needs. The aim is to enhance circulation, increase blood flow and release the build up of metabolic wastes such as lactic acid that accumulate in the muscle during intense exercise and can contribute to injury, pain, tightness and muscle fatigue.
