Tok-Sen

Recommend: 60m - £60 | 95m - £90

This is an ancient unique thai massage that uses special wooden tools, “Khone” (wedge/stick) and “Lim” (mallet/hammer) in a rhythmic tapping motion along the SEN lines to penetrate vibrations deep within the body.
Tok Sen massage evolved around 5,000 years ago within the Lanna Kingdom of Northern Thailand's rice villages. It was developed specifically to alleviate the deep muscular tension and chronic pain experienced by farmers from their hard day's work.
The name Tok Sen originates from Tok meaning to tap and Sen referring to "energy lines. This "tapping the energy lines" aims to allow a healthy Lom (life force) to flow freely along the Sen pathways, clearing any blockages or imbalances and promoting overall well-being.
The rhythmic sounds and vibrations are described as deeply meditative and calming, contributing to mental clarity, improved sleep, and reduced stress. These vibrations can reach areas of chronic knots and adhesions within the body, effectively enhancing the release of stubborn muscle tension that is often resistant to other massage techniques and difficult to release manually. Pressure is always adjusted to suit individual needs.
Beyond physical release, the rhythmic tapping and vibrations facilitate the unblocking of energy and help to calm the nervous system. This process reduces stress and anxiety, promoting a profound state of relaxation, similar to how sound therapy can induce a meditative state.
GEM offers this treatment both on its own and integrated into her signature massage, depending on individual client needs.
